Weekend Update

mburleson on January 27th, 2008

I’ve seen a lovely handful of concerts the past few years including: Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Elvis Costello, Coldplay, and Tony Bennett.  Last night I was able to see B.B. King finally after many years of having to miss his concerts.

The concert was fantastic, other than the security staffs close to violent measures to keep photographs from being taken.  I even saw them make an elderly lady delete her photos or they threatened to take her camera. The unmistakable King of the Blues played for nearly two hours.  There was no stage set, but you didn’t need it.  He sang, played Lucille, told stories and jokes.  I had tickets in the 8th row and was completely satisfied.  It was a great experience.

In other news, I have been fighting a cold/cough for over a week; mainly brought on by my excessive working. So on those nights I couldn’t sleep the past 10 days and those few days I took off from work, I caught up on watching all of Heroes seasons 1 and 2.  Next, the last two episodes of Chuck!

People keep telling me I should watch Lost.. whats everyone think?

Book/CD Recommendation

mburleson on January 20th, 2008

First, I mentioned last month I received Streams in the Desert by L.B. Cowman.  The devotional is absolutely incredible.  I recommend it to anyone looking for a daily devotional.  Google has the original version for reading online as well.

I also got My Savior Lives by New Life Church.  I love the album.

Just thought I’d share.

Talk About Controlling!

mburleson on January 20th, 2008

I started my Domain Controller server change-overs today.  I have two old servers running as DC’s that I am replacing..  I didn’t get started ’til 3p.m. and just now calling it quits for the day.

Will work more on tomorrow.

My plan is to be able to just have to do any troubleshooting on Monday, besides switching over to the new Cisco 3560 I have in to replace an old Dell 12-port gig switch and a Cisco CE 500 12-port gig.  This will give me more control and features..

Thanks to Dave Mast and all the other citrt guys on the idea of how to deploy the DC’s among the other help..  VM here I come!

What blogs am I reading?

mburleson on January 9th, 2008

I read a decent amount of blogs anymore.  I like to read what other people are going through and what they are experiencing in their life, as well as, news feeds and other sundry items.

I do have some people I regularly read on the blog rolls on the right of my site, but here are the links to my google shared items.  I share what I find interesting or what I think is very beneficial.

Happy New Year

mburleson on January 9th, 2008

So it’s been a few days since I last posted..ok more than a few.

Happy New Year to all.

I was hoping that this new year would start out alright, but the Buckeyes didn’t feel it was a good year for that.  Granted, they weren’t supposed to have gone anywhere this year, so I still have to give them some credit there.

I am currently in Peoria, IL at the Sharepoint training that Mindsharp is doing for the Church IT RoundtableJason Lee and the Northwoods Community Church staff, as well as Fady from Willowcreek,  have done an amazing job on getting this set up and hosting. More on this later.

Here are some pics:  Justin Moore’s Set

Anyone know of a like widget to post directly into Wordpress?
